Ahoy there Spring – We’ve Missed You
Can you feel it? Can you smell it in the air? That’s right, friends. Victoria is finally waking from a long and slumbering Winter. It’s time to pop on your boat shoes, seas the day and head across Port Phillip Bay to check out all the Bellarine has to offer during this magnificent season.

Find Your Happy Space
Take a short break, reconnect with nature and find your happy space. The spring flowers are budding and the Canola is beginning to bloom across the region’s green fields in a magnificent blast of bright yellow. There is a wealth of places to see and explore on the beautiful Bellarine. Bring your bike across the bay on the ferry (free of charge with your ferry fare) and set off on a wheely fun adventure. You can also hire a bike from our friends at Bella E Bike Hire or Bike Bellarine e-bike getaways and explore the surrounds at a leisurely pace.
Wheel-less? Stress Less!
Take a slow wander along the foreshore or along one of the many walking tracks around town. Or you could treat yourself to a guided walking tour with Port Walks Bellarine. Explore the beautiful seaside town of Portarlington at an easy walking pace and enjoy being regaled by stories about the town’s history and buildings – along with anecdotes about the people that have created the local community.
Grape Escapes
The rolling vineyards across the region’s many wineries are bud-bursting back to life, and the sight is a wonder to behold. The region is still celebrating after receiving a slew accolades from living legend James Halliday in this year’s edition of the Wine Companion, and every week we hear about new wines being released and awards being won. Foody Delights with Edina
Everyone knows that we’re partial to a ferry tale, so we are extra excited to call Portarlington dame the Edina Waterfront Café our neighbour. Edina is named in homage to the SS Edina (C.1917-1938) one of the longest-serving steam vessels anywhere in the world. By 1924 the SS Edina had made over 12,000 Melbourne – Geelong passages and had carried over one million passengers on her service. Edina Cafe is located just up the hill from the Portarlington pier and is open 5 days a week (closed Tues + Wed) for a sundry of delicious breakfasts, lunches, coffee and cakes.

Pick Your Own Flowers
We’re counting down the days until the Mannerim Stables Co. throws open their barn doors for Spring and declares their Pick Your Own Flower Fields open for business. Stop to smell the Ranunculus, top up your Instagram cred and enjoy the beautiful blooms you picked for weeks afterwards. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on opening dates in late September.
